Grampy

Well my Grandfather died Wednesday morning. Let me tell you a little bit about him.........we met I would say 7 years ago. My first impression of him was how kind he seemed and I was instantly at ease around him. He also had a great sense of humor. He also LOVED doing his scratch tickets and betting on the Lotto 649, going for a burger at the A&W and reading his newspaper in the mornings. One of my favorite memories was he came to PEI to visit me one summer. He travelled over with Sue and Dave and we had a great time. The best part was spending a day at the beach with him and Sue. He had us laughing the whole time. Another great memory I have was one weekend I went to Ormocto to meet up with my brother Jason and his wife Amy. I ended up staying with Grampy at my Aunt Sandra's. We sat out on the deck and chatted for hours. He told me stories about different tours he went on while in the army, he talked about my grandmother to me who I could tell he missed dearly, and he told me about how he use to love hunting when he was younger. We also spent some of the evening together where I drove him to church and he took me to my Grandmother's grave to show me, which I found very touching. I just found that conversation flowed very easily between us and I thought a lot of him. I haven't seen him for 2 years as he lived in Fredericton with Sue and Dave and that's the last time I was there. It's crazy how time goes by so fast. One funny memory that popped into my head the other day while I was there the last time was Grampy and I cleaning out Sue's pool one morning before taking a swim. First of all he told me there were snakes under the deck, LOL, and we were using the nets to scoop out the frogs in the pool and flinging them through the air LOL. It seriously was hilarious, if Sue reads this she will laugh at that one.

Well on a happy note I just wanted to say that I loved him very much and he really was a great person who loved his family :)
